Siva Nair
Siva Nair was born in 1949 in the state of Perak. He had a penchant for art since the age of 5 and excelled in the subject in School, where he was taught art by British trained teachers and was nurtured in the style of British and European artists like John Hayter, John Constable, Peder Monsted, John Singer Sargent and the old masters
like Vermeer, Rubens and Rembrandt.
However, after leaving school, he joined the advertising industry, working with top class art directors. After almost 45 years, he left to pursue art. The environment he lived in when he was young greatly influenced his art. He grew up in the Kinta Valley, a beautiful region in Malaysia, that is dotted by quaint villages, century old small towns, breathtaking river valleys, lakes, forested mountains, orchards and farms, thus endearing him to specialize in nature and heritage. His works have been bought by
collectors in India, the US, Australia and Europe.
